Cloud Formation
How do clouds form? Let's find out!

Clouds are made up of water droplets or ice crystals that dangle in the air.
This water moves into the air and the vapors from the water attach themselves to dust particles.
These new sets of dust and water couples then create clouds. If the water and dust drops are large enough, clouds become visible.
Because all clouds contain water vapor, the water must return to Earth eventually. When it returns to us on Earth, it comes in the form of rain, hail, sleet and snow, all of which are called precipitation.
Precipitation is when there is stuff falling from the sky (remember our precipitation chart from meeting time?)

Now let's look at the different types of clouds we will learn about...
Below is a fun video on clouds! While you are watching the video keep in mind the three types of clouds we are focusing on. How many types of clouds do you see in this video? What differences did you see between them?
Try our slideshow creator at Animoto.
Here is a cool website that you can find lots of fun and interesting pictures of clouds at. Can you notice differences in the pictures? Do you know any of these cloud types? If so...write down all the cloud types that you see!
